3. Storing your language choice
If you choose a language using the DE/EN switch, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage, entry “bfgp-lang”) so that the website appears in that language on your next visit. The entry stays on your device, is not transmitted to us and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings. It is only set when you actively make a choice and is necessary for this function you have expressly requested (§ 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021).
4. Server log files
When you access the website, your browser transmits technically necessary data to our web server: IP address, date and time, requested address, previously visited page (referrer), browser and operating system (user agent), status code and amount of data transferred.
The purpose is to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). Log data is deleted after 14 days unless it is needed for longer to investigate a specific security incident.
5. Hosting
The website is hosted by Hetzner (Germany), which processes data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). The servers are located in the EU.
6. Contacting us by email or phone
If you contact us, for example to request demo access, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, institution, content of your enquiry) in order to deal with your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures), otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). Providing this data is voluntary, but without it we cannot answer your enquiry.
We keep this data for as long as necessary to handle your request. If a contract is concluded, statutory retention periods apply (in particular seven years under § 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code). Emails are processed via Microsoft.
7. Recipients and third countries
Your data is disclosed only to the processors named above. No transfer to countries outside the EU/EEA takes place.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Simply contact us at hello@bfgp.at.
